So finally after almost 9 months we’ve been doing this project, our team managed to finish the first phase of AAD project. We had our system live throughout all AAD’s regional branches in Indonesia at April 12. Though it was a week late than the originated schedule, I think it’s still okay to say that we’ve done a great job. Especially since this is our first enterprise project.
Before I get to the main story about how we spend our time together last Friday, I would like to introduce you first to the team members first.
CGISS Enteprise 1st Generation (CE1G)
From left to right: Harry, Hendry, Nathan, Yuli, Juju, Chandra, Shianty, Fitry
Actually there’s one more person that should be in that picture. But unfortunately, he wasn’t able to join us that day. He is one of the most senior employees in the company and we all claimed him as a “person who knows almost everything” a.k.a Ricky H. Sinaga. ![]()
Anywho.
This dinner event took place at Dermaga One seafood restaurant, Ancol. Oh besides the CE1G, came also my Boss with his family, the Central Operation manager and the office boy who have always been our good companion when we’re having overtimes at the office. So yeah, it was pretty crowded. ![]()
And since we have Harry in this event, we have to be extra-prepared especially for the foods and drinks. You can see from the picture above there were quite a lot of foods for us there. My table, along with Hendry and Harry, is the one at the bottom side of the picture. There were 2 portions of sweet and sour prawns, 1 portion of black pepper crab, 1 portion of grilled cake fish and 2 portions of deep fried squids on our table.
Believe it or not. Those foods got cleaned in just ten minutes. ![]()
Well, that day I haven’t had either breakfast or lunch, so I was pretty hungry that time. The foods were great too. So.. combine me being hungry, Harry and good foods, you’ll get chaos on the dinner table. The picture below was what happened approximately 15 minutes after we started eating. The only thing left on the table, was the fish. And I didn’t like the fish that much, because its taste just not that good. ![]()
We were still hungry even after we emptied our table so we had to wait for the other two to pass the foods to us. There’s this funny thing, when there was only 1 deep fried squid left on our table. Hendry already took it from the plate, dipped it into the mayo sauce and ready to eat it. But all of sudden, Harry saw it, snatched the squid from Hendry’s hand and put it into his mouth. I and Hendry were speechless. ![]()
We were amazed not just because Harry snatched the food from Hendry’s hand, but Harry just acted like nothing happen. He just ate, ate and ate all the foods that visible from his eyes. Simply amazing, eh? ![]()
Anywho.
We finished eating at 8.30 p.m. After a couple of photo shots and a brief speech from the Boss and me for the team, me and the CE1G were ready to go to our next event, which is Karaoke! ![]()
We chose NAV Family karaoke at Sunter Mall, which is not very far from Ancol. And since we still had around 700,000 IDR remaining for our budget, we chose the Super Suite Room, which is originally a room with the capacity for 20 people. So yeah, we had a lot of fun. Not to mention that we ordered a couple of overpriced drinks too. ![]()
At first, not all of us would want to sing with the mic, which mostly perhaps it was just a matter of confidence. So I had to try something. I chose a song from R. Kelly, “I Believe I Can Fly”, which I believe empathizes our conditions at that moment. And voila! We were all singing this song.
Anyhow.. We sang for two hours, and after me and Harry sang a closing song “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing”, I barely had any voices left and my throat ached like hell. So we decided that it’s time to wrap up and go home.
Personally I had a good time. I really believe that this would boost my team’s morale especially knowing that we are going to have a phase two for AAD project very soon. This second phase will include Customer Relationship Management system, WorkFlow system, Data Warehouse and perhaps Executive Information System. Those systems has never been done before (at least by our company), so it will be tougher than before. But for me, who live from challenges, this would be a great chance to prove and push myself even higher to the next level.

Hi,just observed your Post when i google something and wonder what hosting do you use for your blog, the speed is more faster than my website, i really need to know it.will back to check it out, thanks!
Hey Joshua. This blog was originally made on Blogger, so I used Google as my primary hosting. And then in order to be able to blog in WordPress, but with the same domain, I use another web-hosting, which is Tadulako. It’s a local hosting company in my country in case you’re wondering.
But I guess, the speed is really depend on how you play with your template, HTML features, etc. Not to mention the bandwidth speed of your connection affects the load speed of your webpage too.
